Jesus said “Let the little children come unto me…” (Mark 10:14). At Soldotna Bible Chapel, we want children to experience the love and eternal life that Christ offers. To this end, we strive to provide a safe, fun place for children to learn and love our Savior.
Vision
At the heart of our children's ministry is basic Bible teaching which is designed to clearly present to every child their need for the Savior, Jesus Christ (Romans 3:23; 5:8). Our desire is to help families nurture and educate their children with solid Biblical training to this end.
Volunteers
Our volunteers are committed to ministering to children by providing quality, age-appropriate Biblical instruction, personal interaction, and creative activities designed to build a strong spiritual foundation in the life of each child. They are committed to serve God by obeying His leadership in presenting His truths to the best of their ability, to serve the Body of Christ by promising to prayerfully carry out the duties of the ministry they have accepted, and to serve children by enthusiastically involving themselves in the life of each child, knowing the privilege that is theirs of teaching children about Jesus Christ.
Nursery
The purpose of our Nursery and Preschool Ministry is to help each child:
Think of church as their church – a place where people love them and help them
Learn at an early age the importance of memorizing verses, hearing Bible lessons, and wanting to become more like Christ
Begin to show love, respect and acceptance of others
Make progress in sharing, communicating, and responding to others in appropriate ways.
The nursery is available for children under the age of 2 for all Sunday morning activities and for children under the age of 4 for Sunday night and Wednesday night activities. The nursery is also available for most special services.
Sunday School
Sunday School meets at 11:00 every Sunday morning. Classes are for ages 2 through 6th grade. Our curriculum is structured to instruct the children in the fundamental doctrines of the faith.
Children's Church
We offer a children’s church program for children ages 2 through 4th grade during our Sunday morning worship service. During this time, the children are expositorally taught the Scriptures book by book. Older children are also taught the basics of Scripture study, research, and note taking.
Awana Club
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. - II Timothy 2:15.The goal of Awana is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him.
Soldotna Bible Chapel has served our community with an active Awana Club for over 35 years. This highly organized, international ministry has been adapted to fit the unique needs of Soldotna Bible Chapel. Leaders develop friendships with their groups and assist them in their understanding and memorization of Scripture. The Awana year begins in the fall and concludes with Awana Award Night sometime in late April. We offer programs for three age groups each Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM:
Cubbies - three (by September 1st) to five years of age
Sparks - kindergarten through second grade
Truth ‘n Training - third through sixth grade
Vacation Bible School
Every summer, Soldotna Bible Chapel runs a week-long Vacation Bible School. In recent years, we have partnered with Answers in Genesis to provide a fun week of solid Biblical apologetics for our children. Children come for 3 hours of music, crafts, games, and solid Bible teaching.
